In order to process samples through an x-ray instrument it is necessary to contain the sample within a given space that the instrument will be able to collect and process.
Sample cups and mylar films are used for this purpose. Liquid samples especially, need to be contained as spillage within the instrument could be costly in both repairs and time lost. Cups and mylar are used in conjunction as x-rays are able to perform the analysis of the sample through the mylar film.
As well as the nesessary cups and film, other useful products can be found here to help with preparing the samples for analysis.
