TheAnt serves to automatically weigh the sample and dispense the flux with extreme precision, to an accuracy of one tenth of a milligram.
Specially designed for laboratories with high sample throughput for analysis by XRF, AA and ICP. The Ant automatically weighs samples and dispenses flux to maintain a constant sample/flux ratio. It is easily installed and no training is necessary.
The Ant is low maintenance and robotics and LIMS ready. It dramatically speeds up the weighing process with ahigh throughput of 30 to 60 samples per hour and operates independently for approximately 200 weighings.
The Ant has superior analytical accuracy becuase it eliminates weighing errors and human fatigue from the production process thereby improving the accuracy and reproducibility of the analysis.

The M4 Fluxer prepares glass disks for XRF analysis and solutions for AA and ICP analysis. It can process cement, ceramic, slag, glass, silica, carbonates, mining and geological samples, sulfides, bauxites, fluorides, polymers, catalysts, pure metals, ferroalloys and other alloys as well as samples containing highly volatile elements.
It's distinguishing features are precise control of low and high fusion temperatures with NO calibration, NO compressed air & NO oxygen needed. It also has great burner to burner reproducibility with optimal agitation by rotation while inclined and high flexibility and versatility.
The M4 is easy to install, prepares 3 samples at a time with individual burner selection. It's reliable with low maintenance and operating costs, is fully automatic with automatic ignition and flame-watching system. Operates free of supervision and can be linked to a computer with a convenient PC interface.

In sample preparation by fusion the sample never actually melts, but is dissolved into a solvent, generally a borate-based substance such as Lithium tetraborate (LiT) and Lithium metaborate (LiM). The specific LiT/LiM blend depends on the sample type: alkaline oxides [MnO, MgO, FeO] call for acidic fluxes [more LiT], while acidic samples [TiO2, SiO2] call for alkaline fluxes [more LiM] and neutral samples [Fe2O3, Al2O3] call for 50/50 mixes.
For avoiding temperature related evolvement of volatile constituent components it is advantageous to select a fusion flux with a low melting point or mixtures of fusion fluxes with lower eutectic melting temperatures.
